Description

Here we have
an extremely scarce, very desirable 1923 Art Deco brass compact, the very first (earliest) compact model for face powder used by Chicago’s Princess Pat Cosmetics. Makes a very cool Steampunk accessory. Please see our store for more vintage cosmetics, including other Princess Pat pieces from the same estate. We are always happy to combine shipping at actual cost. Simply request a combined invoice when you are done shopping with us, and we’ll get one out to you promptly.

Condition
: Our photos are the most important part of our description so please enlarge them, zoom in on them and carefully examine them. This piece, part of the Chicago estate of a former Princess Pat sales representative, is new-old-stock, but not in mint condition. Very light shelf wear is present. Overall excellent, with far better than typical condition for a 100 year old brass compact. We have made no attempt to clean, polish or otherwise improve its appearance. Very clean, nothing sticky or gross. Bright and shiny, with the color changing depending upon the light. Stable, opens and closes smoothly, and snaps shut tightly.
We consider funky odors (cigarette smoke, mildew, etc) to be an important part of a condition report. Corndogcache is a 100% non-smoking environment, and we’ll let you know if any of our vintage items smell like it (
or anything else
) from activities they may have been involved in before they came to us.
